What is Reiki?

Reiki is a healing technique that involves using energy to help alleviate issues such as (but not limited to): anxiety, chronic pain, depression, lack of energy, storage of emotions, energetic blocks…etc

It really covers an array of issues that we feel and experience in our human vessel. With Reiki, the energy goes where it needs to go, but we can focus on areas of concern.  In a session I will clear, balance and get a feel of what is going on through mainly your primary and secondary chakras.

What is a chakra? I want you to imagine it as an invisible rechargeable battery that lives in your body. There are 7 main chakras which are the ones that we speak about regularly in society today, and then there are what is called the secondary chakras which consist of every joint, hands and feet. Below you will find a minimalistic break down of the 7 main chakra points. This is by far a beginners guide to understanding the chakras.

The Seven Main Chakras and what can block them

Root : Also called, Muladhara, and it comes from the words Mula, which means root and Dhara, which means support.

So, this chakra’s role is to connect all of your energy with the Earth, which is called grounding. Its goal is to give you everything you need to survive. What is it in life that helps you survive? These days it tends to be centered around finances and jobs as well as security in the case of our emotions and vulnerability. Whereas once upon a time it would have been more centered around a much more different aspect of survival (think of caveman times).

It is located just at the base of your spine and is normally associated with the color red.

If it is underactive you may experience things like: feeling like your head is in the clouds, being a chronic day dreamer.

If it is overactive you may experience things like: anxiety and jitters.

If it is balanced you may experience things like: feeling safe about money, security and safety.
